Thank you for taking a few minutes to read our Terms of Use. Your safety and the good use of this platform are very important to the mironline team. This agreement is entered into by and between the Platform mironline hereinafter “the platform” and anyone that registers to use this platform, hereinafter “the user”.

We hope you enjoy our services and that the platform helps you improving your English-language skills!

1. Service description

The platform is a tool that helps learn and practice the English language. It completes the book series Make It Real! English for Higher Education in Latin America, that contains activities to strengthen your language (listening, speaking and reading), grammar and vocabulary skills. It also includes two fields of English for Specific Purposes (ESP). The platform aims at improving your knowledge in a simple and efficient way outside the classroom hoping you become an autonomous learner. Therefore, the platform has been developed in a way you can enjoy it using any device you want. This means you can login from your laptop, Tablet or smartphone.

2. Registration and use of the platform

  • 2.1 To start using the platform, you must register a username, an e-mail address, a password and the activation code in your Make It Real! English for Higher Education in Latin America book, as well as the information ("Personal Data") that is requested in the platform registration process. As part of this process, you must select to create a mironline account for your profile or login through a Gmail® account.
  • 2.2 The user can modify, at any time, the name, e-mail address and password registered in the platform. You must log in and go to your “profile”.
  • 2.3 Our system does not allow duplicity of data, therefore, each user will be able to register just once to the platform.
  • 2.4 The user agrees to make the profile information visible for the mironline support team. The profile information includes: user name, e-mail address and the score of each activity.
  • 2.5 The use of the activities of the platform is responsibility of the user by entering with the registered e-mail and a password. It is also responsibility of the user to keep strict confidentiality of the password. Each account is personal and non-transferable. As registered user, you are committed to:
  • 2.5.1 Use your account individually and not share it with others;
  • 2.5.2 Give immediate notice, via e-mail addressed to the mironline support team, of any inappropriate or unauthorized use of your account, besides any other security breach;
  • 2.5.3 Give true, precise, updated and complete information as required in the registration form of the platform; and
  • 2.5.4 Maintain and update the registration data to assure they still are true, precise, updated and complete.
  • 2.6 Each user duly registered will be able to use the activities of the platform.
  • 2.7 The mironline team will not be responsible for any personal data loss nor damages originated by the breach of term 2.6.

    • 3. About the user and use regulations.

  • 3.1 It is the responsibility of the user, the use of the information and materials content in the platform.
  • 3.2 The use of the platform is personal and has no additional cost, as it is included in the price of your Make It Real! English for Higher Education in Latin America book.
  • 3.3 The user must not collect nor keep other users’ personal data like name, e-mail address or password regardless of the intention.
  • 3.4 The user must not counterfeit page headers nor manipulate identifiers to divert the origin of any published content through the platform; must not falsify accounts, identities or try to log in pretending to be a member of the mironline team to damage or modify the platform.
  • 3.5 The user must not modify nor alter in a total or partial form the source code of the platform, do Reverse Engineering, decompile, disassemble, nor traduce the platform or any of its sections.
  • 3.6 The user must not use any data mining method, robot nor similar processes to take out the content of the platform.
  • 3.7 The platform includes links to other web pages to give you more information. This does not mean that we promote those web pages. The mironline team is not responsible for the content of those linked pages nor the damages they might cause to your devices.
  • 3.8 The user must refrain from sending any message to the mironline support team related to love, sex, religion, politics, nor messages offending countries, people or any other that is not strictly related to the academic and technical content of the platform.
  • 3.9 Except otherwise herein provided, any new characteristic added to the service, including the development of new tools and resources, will be subject to these Terms of Use.
  • 3.10 In case of breaching any of the previous terms, the user will be subject to the penalties that the mironline team or the applicable law determines.

    • 4. Safety of the information

  • 4.1 In case the information and materials offered in the platform are used for individual purposes, the mironline team nor a third party guarantee the accurateness, opportunity, performance, integrity or suitability of the information and materials. Through these Terms of Use you recognize that such information and materials may contain inaccuracies or mistakes. The mironline team expressly refuses to any liability regarding this term.
  • 4.2 The mironline team is not responsible if the user downloads files within or outside the platform, if there are damages caused by some virus or the malfunctioning of the device caused by the use of these downloads. Neither are we responsible for Internet connection failures, nor damages this platform may cause to your health.

    • 5. Resale of the service

  • 5.1 All the information content in this platform like activities, music, sounds, photographs, illustrations, videos, games, among others, are protected by valid Copyright and Intellectual Property Laws and are not available for downloading, installing nor using a copy of the platform.
  • 5.2 The user registered in the platform is committed to not duplicate, sell, lease, distribute, create or reproduce any material content or based on this platform according to the Copyright and Intellectual Property Laws applicable in Mexico, as well as these Terms of Use that protect the platform.
  • 5.3 All the content like activities, photographs, illustrations, videos, games, among others, that are available in this platform, are owned by the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo. No platform content can be modified, copied, distributed, classified, reproduced, published, re-published, downloaded, exhibited, transmitted nor totally or partially sold in any way or by any means, except otherwise provided in these Terms of Use.
  • 5.4 The Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo is recognized as the owner of the Intellectual Property of all logos, domain names and registered trademarks, except the brands that may result from external links of third parties.
  • 5.5 The inappropriate use of the platform and any other controversy that may arise can lead to a complaint for damages or to the commitment of a crime being subject to the applicable laws in Mexico.

    • 6. Amendments

  • 6.1 The mironline team reserves the right to update, improve or modify any characteristic of the platform. The date of the last update will always be registered at the end of this document.
  • 6.2 If we make any changes to the policies, regulations or other conditions herein stipulated, you accept these changes by using the platform.

    • 7. Termination

  • 7.1 If you violate the terms herein stipulated, create any type of risk to the mironline team and the platform, or you expose us to possible legal liability, we can partially or totally restrain you from logging in. We will notify this the next time you log in. After removing your account, the mironline team can eliminate and discard any user’s content that remains in the platform (including your profile) and also can early terminate the agreement, being oral, written, assumed or linked to your eliminated profile.
  • 7.2 The account will be deactivated after four months of no use. To re-activate it you must follow the instructions the platform gives you once you start session for the first time after the period already mentioned.

    • 8. Disputes

  • 8.1 Any claim, cause of action or dispute arising out of or relating to the use of the platform, its users, creators and content will be submitted to the applicable Mexican laws and the courts located in the city of Pachuca de Soto, State of Hidalgo, Mexico.

    • 9. Acceptance of the Terms of Use

  • 9.1 You accept that these Terms of Use will regulate your relationship with the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo regarding the platform as registered user. These Terms of Use prevail over any previous agreement entered into by and between the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo and you.
  • 9.2 You accept that the mironline team can remove your account if they have enough reasons to believe that you have breached the Terms of Use or that you have behaved against its terms.
  • 9.3 By using the platform you accept its Terms of Use and its Privacy Policy. The mironline team will update this section whenever it is necessary. You can have access to these Terms of Use any time you want. If you remain in the platform, you automatically estate your agreement to comply and commit to follow the Terms of Use, that together with our Privacy Policy regulate the relationship between the user and the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo. If you do not agree to any term herein stipulated, please do not continue using the platform.
